I am greatly honored, and humbled, to transition into the role of Board President.
I have been fortunate to have served alongside such amazing people during my tenure. I am especially grateful for the past and present Parks Foundation board members, executive team, staff, and countless volunteers who have continued to carry our mission forward with much enthusiasm and dedication. I’d also like to acknowledge the many contributions of our partners, donors, community, and city who have provided much time, money, and resources to further the success of this foundation.
Special thanks to outgoing President, Raffi Boloyan, for his thoughtful leadership, insightful guidance, and enduring commitment to program achievements.
Looking ahead, my vision is to carry forward the vast work that our prior Board Presidents have initiated and help refine our goals to best meet the programs and projects that benefit our community and visitors. Our biggest and most immediate need will be continued education along the wetlands and watershed areas, which we call home, drawing attention and awareness to the delicate balance of nature and our footprint’s impact to that habitat. It’s a serious call to action, but we tend to have a little fun along the way!
To parallel these localized activations, our foundation has embarked on a significant journey to build one of the North Bay’s most valuable resources in our Napa River Ecology Center. Starting in early 2025, we will begin to occupy the City of American Canyon’s old corps yard space and slowly start refurbishing the property. We are inching ever so close to seeing this project come to life. It’s an exciting time for our teams and for all those that have been involved in the Ecology Center’s conception and evolution.
Lastly, I’d like to welcome incoming board VP Cathy Margolati, and new board members Ed Pingol and Leon Garcia. We are excited to add your experiences and contributions to our growing 2025 calendar of activations and programming.
